Hands On! Fund-raiser a Success!

Hands On! Regional Museum held the Second Annual Hot Tea & Totes: An Auction Celebrating Women on April 4, 2009. The theme for this year's event was "See Jane Bid & Decorate." The auction offered seventy purses, totes, and other fun bags of all types and for all budgets.
“We are so pleased with the success of this event,” says Kristine Carter, Marketing Manager. “We exceeded our fund-raising goal, generating over $27,000.00 for the museum’s programs and exhibits.”
Ladies and young girls of all ages were greeted curbside by valet parkers from Bank of Tennessee. Miss Melanie of Miss Melanie’s Tea Room provided brunch and Phyllis Jackson of Jackson Interiors gave a presentation on redecorating tips for the home. Guests bid on a silent auction showcase of 66 purses, bags, and redecorating items.
The voice auction, hosted by emcee Sara Diamond, WJHL News Channel 11 Anchor, included specialty purses, a purse quilt, and a Persian rug.
